I made this video from a drawn identical pattern that was later edited using Pixelmator. I then layered those .jpeg images one atop the other in Anime Studio and then sandwhiched a few of the images between masked and shaped layers. I then added movement to the mask layers to achieve this desired look. I placed an x-ray filter over this video with iMovie.
